About Us
Cuauhtemoc "Temo" & Cindy Amezcua opened Tequila Grill in October 2011 just two and a half years after opening their first restaurant Fiesta Cafe in the heart of Mechanicsville. Being local residents gives them the unique opportunity to connect with their community, making Tequila Grill a family friendly restaurant.
Chef Arturo & wife Blanca
Chef Arturo Moreno is dedicated to the art of Mexican cuisine and brings his love of cooking to Tequila Grill. Originally from Michoacan in southern Mexico, he trained in the most important kitchen...his mother's, learning family recipes and traditional cooking techniques over many years. Now he shares those treasured recipes with us.
Temo and Cindy acquired much of the decor for Tequila Grill while on their travels to Mexico City, Teotihuacan, and Chichen Itza in the Yucatan Peninsula. The metal sculptures and sconces were handmade by artisans in Mexico City and the wooden Mayan masks were hand carved and painted with natural pigments on the grounds of the great El Castillo pyramid at Chichen Itza.
The beautiful green Talavera tiles that create the border in our front dining room were hand painted and fired by artisans in Mexico.
